Hey Ant, Thought I'd write & catch up. I reckon I'm about done with tricopters. If I had all the money I've spent since starting I could have bought a pretty nice upmarket rig with all the bells & whistles. Still no use crying over spilt junk. I've been researching the Naza lately and am pretty impressed as to what that baby can do. I can buy the F550 Flamewheel Hexa with Naza & GPS, all the motors, ESCs, props and some spares for about $800 and that thing has some great features aimed at AP & FPV....and you don't need a long learning curve.
