After flying the Zephyr 2, I was hooked but the Z2 could use a little more flight time. So now I'm going to be building the X8. Look like I can be up in the air twice as long with the same set of batteries.

1 in the river and 3 the other day so 4. My z2 can only be up for 25mins. its too fat I need at least an hour without recharging.

Try not flying into rivers fresh, I know it's tempting... but the zeph will weigh less because of the water and fly longer, lol :D

Looking forward to the build, got a black or a white one? I really want to have that plane, but I'm so afraid of shipping damage...

For people that think they need it, and to clear out their old junk, their design is antiquated. Get a IRC 500mW 2.4GHz Vtx or a LM 500mW 2.4GHz Vtx.

Went with white, going to paint wing tip orange. The black look cool but I learn my lesson their very hard to see 300m out.

Many People I fly with use them. Clear Pic at 10km's Stock whip on the TX, 8dB patch on the RX.

Limited freq range. I would go with something tried and tested really, why gamble?

Never really doco'ed it. Was really gonna be a side project with paparazzi. Yours is slightly heavier then mine (4.48lbs TOW) and I carry 2x 3s 5000mah.

Make sure if you go with a LM 500mw 2.4ghz, you use a good Linear reg to power it. Makes a world of difference in video quality, color and range.

LM 1.2 500mW has no legal freqs in the US. Not sure about Canada...
