Ok - yeah - I know you can fly until it breaks up then turn back - LOL, I've been doing a lot of that the past few days. :D

How do you guys test yoru video on the ground. I've seen videos of the plane in a car driving down the road while recording on the ground back at the launch site/home - etc. What are your techniques?

I'm luckey enough to live beside Lake Ontario. I have two spots for testing. A 1 mile & 3.5 mile parks in clear view of a pier. I can do tuning and testing without being ask what I'm doing.

pretty simple. buy attenuators. get your dbis down. get it so you got noise in the picture, and then start with the tweaks.

You could take the plane up to the top of Kennesaw Mt. ....drive away and see how far you get.

Well, you don't want to test the absolute range ... you can do that in flight without any problems. What you want is the ability to tune your system. For that you need to be able to see the video feed and have access to the plane to move things around, add new stuff, etc.

Ahhh....good point. So 3 or 4 2-5dbi attenuators ?

yeah. anything to get your range down. We use about 20 dbi in total if I remember correctly

I'll work on that on my upcoming EZ*. The Gunfighter doesn't have enough loiter-time to even matter for me really. Even if it was possible to get out far with it... it'd have to be an out and land - not an out and back.

Yeah....my EZ is good for a solid 20 mins on a 2500mah battery.....no gopro though with that battery. I have to go down to a 1800mah battery with the gopro on board......10 min max flight with it. Thinking about checking out one of those HD keychain cams for long range.

Anyone have a suggested place to get these?

There are several places to get one of the keychain cams. I just did a Google search and found them for as low as $7.99 at Buy.com.

While it may sound like a fantastic deal, you basically get what you pay for. Here is a video of how they work compared to the GoPro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaCNoKaWZhw&feature=related

In short, much of the quality is directly related to the lens.
