Hey guys,
building new plane with DL and my past experience tells me to ask stupid questions first before I seal everything solid.
So here I go:
pictures of my planned set up, and concern about the GPS placement right over the DL antenna coax - problem?
Plan is to finish it all by next week so I can take it on vacation (time is tight here).
So any comments, concerns, and constructive advice will be greatly appreciated :-)
I may throw a case of beer in as a token of appreciation :-)). Rob did you hear that? LOL

I think the GPS should be fine there.
I would move the esc closer to the motor w/ short cables, to keep the noise away from the OSD / RX. on my EZ it used to be stuck in front of it right in the airflow.

Thx,
trying to avoid extending battery wires and keep it further from Vtx but I guess 2 or 3" wont make much difference if I extend them.

I just went through the exact same thing recently. I'd advise not putting your electronics so far back unless you have small hands or add a hatch, since you're inevetablty going to want to tinker with them.
If it's any help, here's what I cam up with:

The rat's nest of wires has been cleaned up since then.

For CG I put the battery in just forward of the hatch, and the area beneath the canopy is reserved for electronics. The hatch is held close with blasa and magnets (sorry, no pic). This location also makes it easy to connect and disconnect the aileron servo cables.

(The vtx location was temporary in that shot.)
I was pondering an equipment tray (http://diydrones.com/photo/album/show?id=705844%3AAlbum%3A262851&xg_source=activity&test-locale=&exposeKeys=&xg_pw=&xgsi=&groupUrl=&xgi=&groupId=&commentPage=&page=1), but I was too lazy to build one.

Thx Chad,
I made the cam and Vtx tray with big intake so I can put ESC inside, The top over the wing may be used for Vtx later if I decide to make another tray for FPV and GO PRO.
Dont like the idea of using GO PRO for both.
There is no way I can avoid cutting bottom out to access things ( done the same on my EZ)as I dont want to put OSD before everything else is checked and working.

Nice tray. I'm still kinda a newb when it comes to wood cutting. What did you use to shape and cut your tray?
I've been pondering running a light weight second camera as well on a video switch (http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43&products_id=472&zenid=mml77o8ihlude631r0vip8g1r1) for dusk, night, and overcast days so I can see the ground better than I can with the GoPro. Either something from this thread (a RCV9222, KX-131, or VSN505) (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1012951) or a TBS 69 (http://www.team-blacksheep.com/products/product:11).
