Alright guys I got bored and morphed a broken skyfun and ritewing TL50 into a Frankenfun50. Inspired by aaron_gx and his skyfun. . Dude your avatar is lookin at me! Creeps me out :)LOL
I am looking for an inrunner motor that I can use on this.
AUW should be 55-65oz estimated
Wingspan is 48"
I am trying to use 4s for power (already got batteries)
I don't know enough about electric motors to make an informed decision.

Thanks for your help!!

What size prop can you swing?

I can go up to 8" without cutting vertical fins. I would prefer a smaller prop with higher RPM but really do not understand all the RC motors mumbo jumbo. . . threr doesn't seem to be standard terms between mfgs.
Will this motor do the trick with maybe a cc40 amp esc? Will it handle 4S(14.8v)
Weight: 138g, (4.9oz), Motor Only Max Power: 400W, (This is dependent on several factors) Max RPM: 50,000 RPM Diameter: 28mm, (1.10”) Length: 48mm, (1.89”) Shaft Diameter: 4.0mm, (.1575”) or 3.17mm (.125”) Mounting Screw Thread: 3.0mm, max depth 4.0mm, on 16mm, (.625”) bolt circle Maximum Case Temperature: 100oC, (212oF)
Electrical Specifications:
HA2825-2300 Kv = 2300, Rm = .078, Io = 0.5, Efficient Operating Current = 4-23A

If you want it really fast I would go a bit larger motor with the same kv and run 5s

Well Maybe this is the one? I just dunno, damn i feel like a moron when it comes to electric RC motors
MR-028-056-1900V2 1900RPM/V 1.30A 0.016 500W 44A 52A 32V 28 x 56mm 3.17mm 160g
here:http://www.nesail.com/detail.php?productID=5714
and maybe this ESC: phoenix ice lite 50

What should I expect from that combo?? Should I go to a 75A ESC?
I already got a grip of 4s batts like 9 or 10 I have no 5s batts!

im using this on my new skyfun build, its an outrunner, but it really rocks! It will handle 4s, 480w. You would want to spin a 6x4 or smaller with 4s. I am using a 6x5.5 on 3s, and it is a ROCKET! I am drawing mid 30A's@11.1v. Prop it right, and a 40a esc would do well.

I would have to undo the glasswork over the motor mount to put on an outrunner that is a screamin deal which makes me think i might?
I am thinking the 1900kv medussa 75amp esc and a 6x4 would be pretty fast? Will it work??

Using this cal
http://flbeagle.rchomepage.com/software/webocalc_1.5.2/html/webocalc_imperial.html
and guessing at a wing area of 648 square inches
and wanting a top speed of about 80 mpg with 65 qz of trust says a 1350kv motor with an 8x6 prop would do it.
Idk how accurate it is.
