Actors get all the credit. In reality his tx was dead and I was piloting the heli from the crowd.

I was hooked with helis 4 years ago thanks to Jason Krause, but since then I haven't been following the advances in 3D. Just this week I found this video in the spanish forum. This guy has fast fingers:

^The guy who filmed that had either a really long lens or else everyone but the pilot has a death wish! Man, that is just too close to instant death for me!!! LOL I'd be standing over by the mountain with binoculars watching that!!!!!

Oh yeah, I guess the pilot does have some talent. When is someone going to try that in a real heli? :)

ps..can't believe I watched the whole thing. Heli's don't excite me at all but I found that strangely facinating. How long would it take that dude to cut my lawn? :)

Two weeks ago I went to a local helicopter 'fly in' event. It was a very small, low key thing, but I filmed the below.

And yes, if you think the pilot looks small... he is TEN YEARS OLD !! (I zoom in on him at the end)

Kids seem to find it VERY easy to learn to fly. This one is 14 years old ..

Agreed! I think it's a combination of lots of hours on a simulator (kids are better at video games too) and having no fear should it all go wrong, as dad will pick up the bill!

Never really got excited by the whole 3D thing. People flying airplanes like helicopters and helicopters like airplanes...

^that video was the one that led to me to post what I said. Just doesn't excite me, looks stupid. I'm sure it takes skill to pull it off but just doesn't excite me.

Then I guess you just ain't a fan of physics or mechanics or the art of melding machine and mind.

Lol too much of an engineer, I like clean, organized, well executed maneuvers. That heli video is just chaos and to me nothing more than just throwing the sticks around

I love how Danny Szabo stands next to the little 4 year old in awe (at 4:54) ... very sweet.

Guilty! :)

I love smooth well executed maneuver with artistic transitions. Justin seems to be falling into that category and focusing on level, round, and angular. :)

See I look at that and think yes, the skill to actually do these manoeuvres is incredible, but the amount of practise they need to put in to get to that level must be utterly ridiculous.

Anyway, I like helis and fly them a fair amount but to me, properly insane 3D just looks like a weasel that's been smoking crack.

This - 3D heli stuff just looks like "NOT CRASHING" to me.
